On December 5, the 7th National Congress of the 7th China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in Beijing. With the theme of "Forty Years of Trials and Hardships, Forge Ahead and Write a New Chapter", the conference will gather together to summarize the past, look forward to the future, share friendship, discuss cooperation, and discuss the development plan of the Society, which will surely lay a solid foundation for the Society to carry forward the past and forge ahead into the future. The participants will take this meeting as an opportunity to closely rally around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, never forget their original intentions, keep in mind their mission, inherit the essence, keep the integrity and innovation, constantly create a new situation of innovation and development of the society, and make new contributions to promoting the development of traditional Chinese medicine and helping the construction of a healthy China.

The leaders who attended the meeting included He Wei, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Meng Qinghai, Vice Chairman of the National Association for Science and Technology; Yu Yanhong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Yu Wenming, director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The academicians of the two academies attending the meeting were: Academician Chen Kaixian of the Academy of Sciences; Academician Xiao Peigen, Academician Zhang Boli, Academician Chen Xiangmei, Academician Huang Luqi and Academician Tong Xiaolin of the Academy of Engineering.

Wang Guoqiang, President of the Sixth Council of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, attended the meeting and made a report on the theme of "carrying forward the past and forging ahead into the future, and writing a new chapter in the inheritance, innovation and development of traditional Chinese medicine", which was presided over by Wang Guochen, Secretary General of the China Association of Chinese Medicine.

Academician Zhang Boli read out the "Decision on the Award of the 2020 Science and Technology Award of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Li Shizhen Pharmaceutical Innovation Award", and the leaders attending the meeting presented awards to the winning representatives.

The meeting elected a new board of directors and the first board of supervisors. Yu Wenming, director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was elected as the chairman of the 7th Council of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Zhang Min, chairman of Mengyang Pharmaceutical, was elected as a member of the 7th Council of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
