Hosted by the Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, organized by the Hematology Professional Committee of the Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine and Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the "2023 Inaugural Meeting of the Hematology Professional Committee of the Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine and the First Academic Annual Meeting and Beijing Municipal Continuing Education Program of Traditional Chinese Medicine" was held on May 7, 2023 in the Guanju Hall of Beijing Sunflower Hotel. More than 150 hematology experts and scholars from all over the country gathered together.

Yang Na, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, attended and presided over the first election meeting and inaugural meeting of the Hematology Professional Committee of the Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through on-site voting, Professor Tian Shaodan from the Department of Hematology and Oncology of the First Clinical Medical College of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (Dongzhimen Hospital) was elected as the chairman of the first special committee.

At the meeting, Tu Zhitao, director of the Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Wang Xian, president of Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, delivered speeches and congratulated the official establishment of the special committee.

This conference attaches great importance to the scientific and technological innovation and academic development of TCM hematology, aiming to establish an interactive mechanism, give full play to the integration effect, strengthen the transformation of innovative achievements, and gradually establish a mechanism for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into society to serve the health industry.

The conference invited Professor Yang Wenhua from the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Hu Xiaomei from Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Professor Yang Shulian from Langfang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hebei Province, Professor Hou Li from Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Professor Duan Minghui from Peking Union Medical College Hospital and other 8 experts to make relevant academic reports, covering the diagnosis and treatment of primary immune thrombocytopenia with traditional Chinese medicine, research related to the treatment of myeloproliferative tumors by traditional Chinese medicine, and the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome. Research progress on arsenic in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia, diagnosis and treatment standards for polycythemia vera, etc.

In the special expert discussion session of the conference, 10 well-known experts, including Professor Wu Jie from Guang'anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Professor Ding Xiaoqing from East Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Professor Xu Yongmei from Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Capital Medical University, and Professor Tang Xudong from Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, were invited to share their experiences and insights in clinical diagnosis and treatment practice. At the same time, Professor Xu Yongmei, Director of the Department of Hematology, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University, shared and discussed the necessity of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of bone marrow suppression, and focused on the prescription characteristics of Shengbai Oral Liquid (Mixture) of Chinese patent medicine, and evaluated the precise composition of Shengbai Oral Liquid (Mixture) and the exact efficacy of clinical application.

At the end of the meeting, Professor Chen Xinyi, chief expert of Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, made a summary speech on the meeting. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the experts and professors who participated in the conference, and fully recognized the professors' clinical and practice-based speeches. Finally, Professor Chen Xinyi looked forward to the future of the Hematology Professional Committee of the Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine, and hoped that everyone could use the strength of the society and experts to create more research results and greater clinical value for patients, society and the academic community.
